Violets

I'm a more or less regular reader of Stitches of Violet, over there on my sidebar, and looking out my window today put me in mind of that blog:



Lots of violets. Front yard, side yard, back yard. Flower beds. Cracks in the driveway and sidewalk. We've had really warm weather (in the 80's!) for the last day or two, and they've really popped. They were my mom's favorite flower. My sister and I used to pick tons of them every year. She died last year just a few days before they bloomed. I don't know if she would remember that she loved them; Alzheimer's had erased most of her memory.

I'm chugging along on Flower Basket, but only knitting at night on it. Days are spent outside now, and I have to go back to work tomorrow night.
